The bus is a 1965 21 Window Sliding Door Samba....
The motor is based on a VW 'Type 4' Air-cooled Flat Four, it's 2366cc with Twin 44IDF Webers, bigger valve heads, a bit of a cam, full flow custom exhaust, Kennedy Stage 2 clutch with a beefed up Beetle IRS gearbox which made 100 whp on the Dyno with 113 Lb-ft of torque, combined with the line-lock makes for burnout fun! (the last pair of rears did 1500 miles! :surprised: :confused: )
Best time on the quarter was 16.36 at Bug Jam last year...
It's currently taking a well earned break from active duty, while we try and work out ways of making it quicker :jumping: :happy2:
