DSG Service
« on: June 21, 2009, 05:40:58 pm »
For those of you that have had the 40k service on the DSG how much have you paid ? my local Audi dealer wants £170, my local VW dealer won't do DSG which leaves me with another VW dealer or the skoda dealer, although skoda are more expensive than VW around here. Mines on 42k but since i'm looking at swapping it I don't want to waste too much money on it.

£170 is pretty good - since VW charge £250.
Make sure you get it done by some place who know what they are doing though!

its peterborough audi, so they should stand as good a chance as anyone to get it right.

I tried Peterborough Audi when mine was due and they said they wouldn't touch it and forwarded me onto Cooks.  I already had a price from Cooks and wanted to compare the two.  BTW, Cooks charged me ~ £155.

obviously it depends on lab charge..
but sure dsg changes be around the £150 - £170 mark..

seems silly that a vw dealer wouldnt do a dsg change....

cooks in stamford wouldn't do the dsg change, they refused to do any work on the Audi as they were owned by the same company and would be taking work away from the audi dealer .... not sure how that works surely if it goes to any of there dealers they shouldn't complain ? i'll try cooks in peterborough to see what they say.

DSG service at my local dealer used to be £299, I called recently about a DSG service on a TDI and they said £160 - not sure if its different or prices dropped dramatically

But only if they use the correct spec fluid, and actually drain it out the bottom, and refill it through the bottom too!

still haven't had mine done and i'm approaching 43k, Audi still want £171 to do it and reckon I can wait as its only a 1 hour job ...... local VW looked confused at me. So its a case of splash £170 or leave it and prey a GTi urns up soon, otherwise i'm getting close to the 4 year service, fluid change and cambelt + MOT, still a major service at Audi is £199 for cars older than 3 years or £99 for a standard one.
