Headlined as an ED30 but it doesn't look like one. Look at exhausts!
Edited to add:

Imagine it was expensive when new.

It's a Speed Edition and was a project of VW-trainees in 2006. Only 200 were built: 100 in Lamborghini Orange and 100 in yellow.
EDIT
: All the info is in your second link.
Seems expensive to me but no idea on how sought after they are.

Here is the same car,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Sports-2-0-GT-TDI-3DR-ORANGE-SPEED-EDITION-NO-/251117427463?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a77c3db07
Looks like the price has inflated a bit
Plus i have just noticed it is nether a ED30 or even 2.0tfsi as advertised in the first link?

Reading the first link I was very impressed however upon seeing the eBay listing I must agree it looks like a badly modded 32!

I can confirm steves comments. I'm sure this car turned up on our club stand at tatton park. I had been written off and it's a German import converted to Rhd. That would put me off somewhat from buying it

So its a NON limited edition, written off, Import for stupid amounts of cash?
Sounds like a bargain to me, Would love to see a HPI checkof its history
