APR/Race Developments Stage 4+ 700hp+ TTRS Build
« on: November 12, 2012, 11:38:49 pm »
Thought maybe I should start a project thread here. Have had her a while now, and its been a very eventful journey so far! Ups and downs, but making progress with where I wanna be with the car, alot sooner than I had planned.

This is my story  :signLOL:

It all started in autumn 2010.

All my life I had wanted a UrQuattro or a turbocharged 5 cylinder audi, so when they announced the TTRS my prayers where answered.

So I went ahead and traded in my stage 2 plus, 360hp, 2.0TFSI Cupra K1.

Great car, loads of fun, practical, cheap to run for the performance, and looked the part for a young man! Loved the car, hated the dealer after support!

I then picked up this beauty, Ibis white, delivery miles, so happy! Dream come true.

First thing I did was to remove the license plate off the front. Looks much better!

First mod obviously is a remap.

I got this done by Revo, and it bumped the car up to 400hp on stage 1.

I then added a full turbo back race exhaust from milltek which is a fair bit lighter than the OEM exhaust which weighed in at a massive 35kg.

Milltek vs oem

Stunning engine, that soundtrack is simply awesome....linked with the Quattro drive train (although not a tradition version) with a couple of slight tweaks exhaust, filter, map you have a very capable weapon - kudos to you

I look forward to reading the continuing modding updates

Thanks guys I appreciate the kind words.

Re the license plate, I do have one on show whilst the car is being driven!

Did have a sticker plate on the side of the car, but got some funny looks from traffic police once so that got canned.

Next I looked at the brakes. The OEM pads were very dusty and didnt last long at all.

I bought some brembo blues for the car.

In hindsight these werent a very good addition as the soon killed the admittely not very good stock rotors.

Next I changed the panel filter.

I then looked at the intercooler. The stock intercooler is tiny so I fitted a forge motorsport unit. I got it fitted at Forge HQ, got a chance to meet the big boss Peter who is a really nice guy and really enthusiastic about his products which was nice to see.

Yeah its quite restrictive, especially with the primary cat right at the inlet. Alot of people have decatted this exhaust and seem to have improved things alot.

It being a two pipe system as standard means its actually got greater flow capacity than a single 3" bore, but you pay for it in weight, and the restricive DP.
