that is a big snail. Will it be a little laggy or will the larger duration cams overcome that?
Tbh that is kinda the million dollar question.
Atm i pretty much have peak torque around 3250rpm which is pretty decent but the turbo does start to drop off around the higher rpm range. The APR kit was optimised for use with that turbo size as they went for response. The current turbo is a gtx3576 with a 0.63ar housing. Basically they say it has gtx30 spool with gtx35 power, a great turbo but if you want more you have to go bigger obviously. This turbo can do 650hp, but my exhaust is too restrictive as it drops to 2.75 cat back.
The new turbo is a gtx3582 with a 0.82ar exhaust housing, so im going with a turbo setup that will flow alot more up top. Its good for 750hp and should carry on flowing till we reach 8500rpm.
So with the valvetrain cams and bigger turbo I could gain another 1500rpm of bandwith up top. Alot of people have said they are concerned I will make it a slower car for the road due to it being more laggy as they think I wont have any power till over 4000rpm.
From the research ive done myself im hoping near peak boost will just get shifted to 3750rpm.
But I will soon find out. All I know for certain is that with the raised limiter and 8500rpm the car geared to be able to go well over 200mph in 6th and sound great whilst doing so.
Just a shame I lose bottle on the autobahn around 180
