wicked.
Have you had any tuning or dyno time between last year and now? would love to know how you are currently :)

I never did get it mapped in the end, was going to run a piggyback and a custom APR map but once I had priced it all up syvecs was starting to make more and more sense.

So to update, new gearbox in, new street sport engine mounts in to replace the solid VWR ones, 5 extra injectors and new inlet manifold all fitted.

Car was then being mapped yesterday on the syvecs at the surrey rolling road but the clutch started slipping at 600lbft. Not good. The clutch was contaminated from the old leaking gearbox but the garage did clean it up very well. Perhaps though it still affected it because a guy in the states reckons hes put 1000nm of torque through it when running racefuel.

So ive got another brand new sach clutch sitting with me at home which I will send over and we will fit and fingers crossed it will take 650-700lbft ok.

Those figures are nuts!  :notworthy:

Hope the new clutch sorts the slipping problem.

Chris
It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

New clutch in, base low boost map completed.

420hp @ 0.7 bar and revving to 8000rpm

Right different dyno, so no 8000rpm action as exceeding maximum dyno speed and revving it out to 7100rpm only.

End result 650PS @ 1.5 bar.

Clutch starting to slip, and intank pump is maxed out.

So now looking for a more extreme clutch and fitting a stronger intank pump. Then back to tuning and turning up the boost some more.

What clutch you thinking to go for instead?

Well on the road the clutch seems to be holding, we limited the torque in the map, sach reckons the clutch needs running in also, but if not might throw a clutch master one in.

So for now ive ordered a bigger air filter as the tuner thought mines too small and working on a more efficient intercooler as the one I have is seeing too great a pressure drop. So im hoping two weeks from now it will be finished, should in theory make over 700hp once revved out to 8k rpm and the fuelling and cooling can keep up. I'll call it quits till the winter and then sort any other bits out that are limiting its full potential.

Time for an update.

Never did anymore dyno time as my intank fuel pump was maxxed out and the pressure loss across the intercooler too great. So instead of waiting for us to develop a better intercooler I picked up the car from storm developments to enjoy for the summer instead.

So the car has 6 maps. Wastegate pressure 0.7bar with is 470hp to start with then 5 other maps that increase the boost at each stage and also the final map being peak boost plus anti lag. Anti lag is hilarious as the car will literally flame continuously.

So syvecs itself, amazing, the car drives so much better than on a bosch ecu, the fail safes are amazing and instead of oil temps being high 90's low 100's in stop start traffic they now sit at around 86 degrees, all due to the engine running better on syvecs.

Syvecs Motorsport traction control: WITCH CRAFT. 650hp in the rain foot down any gear you like and the car just goes, 0 drama, no esp kicking it, its like traction control is obviously doing its job but you cant feel it. The car is soooo much quicker in the wet now.

Now 100-200 times. When I first got the car i was doing 5.9 secs, but andy at storm developments team viewered in a few times and we started mapping on the road.

5.9 secs turned into 5.7 secs, another day another night of tweaks and the 5.7 went to a 5.5 corrected time. No hardware changes, all in the mapping adjusting some strategies and the TC slip maps.

The car now needs a better intercooler and either a twin or brushless LPFP, and then we can turn up the boost. In 2018 i will make these changes and I think the car will do a high 4 sec 100-200.

So syvecs was money well spent, engine runs better, im faster in a straight line, faster in the wet, faster around a track wet or dry.

Ive done two ring trips and a open pit day at Spa and the car was flawless.

Many thanks to the guys at storm developments for their hardwork and advice!
