As above. Keep it coming! Saw one of these at edition this year oh my.

I hate this time of year for cars. No point In having your shiny nice wheels on unless you plan of referbing them! And it's too cold to do anything productive! Anyway, rant over about winter. More drooling over the TTRS!!

Not being happy with the stock brakes, I turned my attention to the calipers.

I settled on a set of rs4/rs5/r8/gallardo 8 pot calipers married to the stock 370mm discs. This gave a big performance upgrade IMO and greater confidence whilst on the brakes. You can brake really really late now repeatedly and just general throw loads of abuse at the brakes with no real fade.

I chose mintex1155 pads, originally intended as a stop gap till I had funds for the £550 pagid yellows, but Im so impressed by them especially considering their price (£220) that I now stick with the mintex pads.

The stock discs may be 370mm but they are non directional so one side always gets hotter than the other, and had a tendency to warp real easy with the stock 4 pot calipers. With the 8 pots a set of discs now lasts a pad life. They do still warp, just not as easily. I will have to address the rotor issue in the future.

I also bought some new braided brake lines, castrol SRF brake fluid and I bought mintex 1155 pads. A friend machined the "revo" plate for us so the pads would sit on the oem disc properly.

Then replaced the stock intercooler hoses for some uprated forge ones. Another great forge product!

I will take this time to show you guys what we then did to my friends TTRS roadster! Hes stage 2 with a full milltek race exhaust, but we ditched the milltek race backbox for a custom single exit "race can". Basically think of a silencer about the size of one fitted to a race bike! It is loud!

We came across a THS intercooler for free, and we were wondering what we could do with it. So, we decided to cram it behind the roadsters engine bay somehow!

And so this is what we came up with. Removed the air conditioning rad, attempted to remove the A/C pump aswell, but thats required due to the way the belts run on the engine. For it to fit we also had to cut the crash bar.

Then we painted the intercooler black for the stealth look.

End results via logging shows that temps are even cooler than my forge, and will peak at a certain temp and not increase anymore, but if you ask me whether its worth massacaring your TTRS for the small gain over the forge unit, I would say no. Therefore the coupe wont be going this route, and it did highlight actually how well the forge unit is actually designed, as the temps differences werent that big!
