Wow I havent updated this in over a year.

Alot has happened since then. Good and bad.

The APR kit and engine build itself has been perfect. The oem gearbox syncros and injectors not so much.

But I push on, further upgrades are coming for speed, driveability, handling and reliability.

Most immediate is a updated map where we will be fitting some new sensors and ive been trying to coax eric urness the mapper to add some flamage into the map for me also

Also on the list is stronger syncromesh, im having that developed by a transmission specialist as Ive broken three now.

Put on a positive note, the car has done 2 ring trips, hit some high speeds and put a smile on my face everytime I boot it.

Welcome back Pov.  :happy2:

What power level are you at now? If you are breaking synchromeshes it must be a fair amount.

Hi John, ive been lazy with updating but Im going to start again as I start to push on to the next phases.

Its not so much the power thats ruining the syncromesh its my super duper lightweight flywheel. It allows the car to rev like a superbike but it also drops the revs really quickly, and the syncromesh cant slow down fast enough, so as I engage gear the speeds are mismatched and it stresses the syncro. I'll upload some pics of it later.

Its been a bit of a weakness for manual TTRS cars tbh as even stock clutch and flywheel guys are breaking the syncros with fast shifts.

Power wise im at 620hp and 620+lbft torque @3250rpm

Once ive dropped some more weight off the car and the gearbox is bulletproof I think it will be time for more power again  :jumping:

Thanks! Yeah theres a few dogs out there now, alot of them have been ragged and or crashed.

Love the R, if I needed another car as a daily its what I would have as it ticks all the boxes. Still secretly hoping to trade in the GF's mini for one

Have you seen this:

https://www.facebook.com/revlimited/posts/645733625528061?notif_t=notify_me

Massive torque from this

Nice! Whats really interesting to me is the power curve difference to mine. Spool is a whole 750rpm later, shows what a good race developments did on the cylinder head porting and flowing. The aim was better low down response and thats exactly what I got.

Im still wondering if my 2.75" catback is holding power back a bit, I should really be a full 3", although I have 3.5" ambitions

2,75" must be a restriction, we are using 3,5" dp and 3" catback on the 2,0 TFSI above 450bhp  :happy2:
