I love both BBT and Friends. What they mostly have in common is comedy based on relationships but the themes are different.

What I didn't realise about BBT until a professional scientist friend told me, is that all the geeky scientific content is accurate and the prog makers employ professionals to keep it so.

....BBT series 6 is great so far and I don't see it changing from being great
