Can gateways rcd510
« on: November 19, 2012, 02:13:55 am »
Hey guys, in a spot of bother. Bought an rcd510 for my 06 plate 1.9tdi and I know I have to change the can gateway to prevent the battery drain, but I don't know what this looks like an who supplies some and how to fit it I'm, I know Eddie NL can buy he lives too far away, wondering if there was anyone local in London that's willing to supy and fit it
Thanks in advance

Abzy :happy2:

As a temporary fix you should have a look here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,37977.0.html. It worked for me until I received my new coded gateway from Eddie.

Not sure if your fuse box is the same as the GTi though. :happy2:

Alright Abzy, don't quote me but I'm sure I was reading another thread where Eddie said that on a diesel you could see the plug for the can gateway if you took the side plastic off on the diving side of the dash (just pops off) otherwise I believe that it is behind the clutch pedal area.

I'm sure there is someone a little closer than Ed, in sure someone will know  :happy2:
