Do k04 gtis have different thermostats from k03?

I think I read somewhere the k04 Gti should have the 78 degree thermostat but I just ordered a new 1 using the reg from a s3 but the new part has the exact same part number to the one that just came out of my car?
Part number is 06f 121111H
Any ideas?
