Golf V GTI Start up problem
« on: November 15, 2012, 09:45:04 pm »
Hey

So i recently bought a 56 plate mk5 golf GTI to replace my mk5 golf GT..

I've noticed that when starting the car in the morning or at the end of work/anytime the car has been sat idle for awhile it feels unwilling as such, the car hasn't not started yet, just feels sluggish to tick over

If i press down on the accelerator a little when turning the key that seems to help, also if i turn the key once and let all the lights go out that helps too

I had the same issue on my GT and the garage replaced a sensor to fix the issue and it seemed to do so so i'm wonder if the GTI has the same issue however i've done some searching on here and several have said its just a trait of the car..

Does anyone know what the sensor replaced would of been in the engine bay as i may just buy the part and do it myself instead of going to the garage this time?

I have had a similar issue recently and replacing the battery with a new bosch silver cured it for a week but its just come back.  I'm wondering if something is causing the battery to drain or if a sensor is playing up .
