Refurbed wheels - which socket?
« on: January 24, 2013, 05:10:10 pm »
My alloys are in being refurbed, so I guess it's time to buy a socket that offers a bit of protection when removing bolts.

What are you guys using?

Would this suffice? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260841234661?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

I just use a halfords professional 17mm deep 1/2" drive socket with a layer of electrical loom fabric tape wrapped around it. Works a treat.
How hard can it be?

I bought that other one, but will probably wrap it in felt electrical tape after it's been used a few times  :happy2:
