Mine nicely in place, changed my mind and moved it to the ash tray when it fell off the door.

....That looks perfect! A very nicely lit photo too. It really looks like the aluminium cover came from the factory with the plaque already as part of it.

Jeeze! 23 degrees! You like it hot in your cabin.

Yeah, I'm down on the south coast in West Dorset near East Devon - It's mild outside.

Tried all sorts of different places to mount the plaque but agree with everyone that the ashtray is the best place.

Mock up:

.
This is NOT a complaint! But I noticed that my plaques had some rough edges from machine cutting in their production. Easily resolved with some wet-n-dry P180 > P400.

The plaque on the left is as supplied and the plaque on the right has had its edges smoothed by me...........

The trick is to lay the sandpaper down flat on a worktop and work the plaque against the static sandpaper, not work the sandpaper against a static plaque. this ensures a more even straight edge. Take extra care on the radius corners.

Very very smart, Marky, and great photos!  :congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

I stuck on one of mine today - Same idea but not so smart as yours being a lowly K03 GTI..............

Modified or as it comes?

It fits straight on using some different mounting bolts. The cover has been smoothed and painted.
Thanks RR, my pics are crappy iPhone ones but will get some better ones. Yours looks pretty funky too! :happy2:

WOW! Engine cover and with added plaque looks great!  :notworthy:

Am definitely going to sell my spare engine cover now and get ones of those, simply stunning. Did you get it from the dealer or did it pop up on the Internet for sale? Just had a search and can't find one!  :sad1: Fits well along side the CAI too, top job Mark.
