There is something called a nox sensor on the fsi engines which cost about £500 to repair, they are known to go wrong.

Also things like window regulators broke, but think this is for most VWs

i have a soot chucker and do less than 2000miles a year-considered getting a petrol but changed my mind as it does 55mpg.

I got a 1.9tdi and had it remaped to 140bhp and its awesome , dont do many miles but a 1.6 in a fairly big car is pointless imo

Thats what  I was thinking with the 1.9tdi get it remapped, but as people have said it would be better with petrol with the amount of miles I do
