Hello everyone!
« on: November 21, 2012, 07:15:41 am »
Hello owned my car for just over a week now absolutely love it! It's my first car I've owned have a company van which they took privet use off us so went and treated myself to this! All standard only had the windows tinted so far. Looking on here there's so much stuff I want to get! I think one of the first things on my list is spray lower bumpers and skirts to match. Will have to wait a couple months though being bent over by insurance company £4700 a year for me!

Not sure if I'm doing everything right doing all this from my phone excuse the bad pictures haven't had time to get decent ones yet

Cheers conrad

Yeah really wanted its my toy not just transport! I'm 21 which don't help! it was originally £3100 but I didn't declare 6 points as they've expired but aren't five years old yet so got cancelled by that company they charged me £730 odd for the first eight days cover now with the same company as my parents which meant I stuck my car onto there multi car. Managed it even when I don't live with them which was a result as it was over £6000! On my own

Welcome along Conrad!  :drinking:

Lovely looking GTI you bought fella, correct amount of door and the fastest colour too!

That's a very impressive insurance bill you have there, is your postcode in the Gaza Strip or something?   I realise your young with a not entirely clean licence but that seems incredibly high.

Did you try the "mod" friendly Insurance companies such as Greenlight or Sky?

Yeah I think it makes the car look like it's sitting lower and just finishes it off so much better in my opinion! if you don't mind me asking how much did it cost to get them sprayed and did they just sand them smooth or did you have to get new un painted?

Conrad

You've GOT to reduce that insurance. That's just sheer madness what you're paying. The GTI is a cracker, but not at that price.

I'm sure you will manage this with a few enquiries, then you'll have plenty of money for nice bits, instead of lining those insurance gamblers' pockets.

Short answer is about £180 for the rear - which included a new bumper in that price. Front is about £130 including the spoiler (just the outside part - left the centre piece black, easy as it is a separate part)

This thread explains it all  :happy2:
