Mazza there is not enough money in the world that would make me sell her lol,(luv her more than the wife lol)all the blood and sweat and late nights i went through and trips up and down to my tuner is worth it now.but i suppose thats half the enjoyment of modding.as for torque steer well it all depends on how you drive her,ie if you are aggresive with the power then yes you can obviously expect loads of wheel spin and suspension hop/skip but the longer you have that amount of power the better you are at knowing how to best get the power on the road.iv found my self personally using third gear on to give her some if and when the occasion presents its self lmao.i will say one thing and probably most of the other forumites will agree with me here, when you have that amount of power you know you have it,but you dont really use it so often if that makes sence ie its incredible how quick it covers the ground three figures comes up very quickly effortlessly fast, imo the gti at 300bhp is really all you will need or can possibly use on the public road,so m8 ed30 or gti k03 get it bought and enjoy one of the best front wheel drive adrenaline rushes you will get.

All the best n safe driving buddy :drinking:

Why 300bhp? Not really important IMHO.

....I was going to post exactly the same.

You have stated that you can't afford a K04 turbo'd Ed30 but by the time you have got your K03 turbo'd GTI to 300 bhp, you'll have spent a similar amount.

I guess it's personal preferences but with a Revo Stage 2, 270 bhp GTI with Quaife diff, AP Racing brakes, KW V3 coilovers, UNIbraces, SuperPro bushes, engine mounts, etc, etc, etc, she has plenty of power and great handling. My car isn't faster than a 320 bhp Ed30 but feels faster.

Power is useless without traction.

As Robin has just stated the k03 car picks up way faster than the k04 car due to it not having as much of the dredded turbo lag, this is one of the things i most miss about my car when it was on the k03,settings.but when the magical 4k is reached all hell brakes loose lol

I had a mine at 296bhp 296lb/ft.

It was great fun, no torque steer, minimal slip in 2nd gear (1st was useless)

Mods: Milltek TBE (£500 2nd hand) & Neuspeed P-flow (£180 new) Revo Stage 2 (£500 Limited time offer)

05 GTi KO3 standard apart from above

I had an Airtec twincooler on for 100 miles but didn't have the map tweaked before I sold the car (which I still have for sale)

My friend is selling his GTI, black 06 plate with 80k.

APR exhaust, Neuspeed intake and APR stage 2. Corsa VXR Recaro CS's with the rears trimmed to match (brand new) Forge 6 pots and 350mm discs, KW coilies, late R32 wheels and a twintercooler. Has a lovely sound install in the boot too. It's like 280bhp and he only wants 7k, bargain!

before I bought my car I went to see a cracking ed 30 in black, same age 08 and same colour, was a nice car, the reason I didn't buy it was due to the hard ride, every bump felt file a speed bump, then there was the worse fuel consumption and lastly the mad road tax.
the car was very well looked after with full history, all vw services but it was a very hard ride ?
I don't know if there is any diff in the suspension etc between the gti and the ed 30 but was the reason I didn't buy it.
also at the time I didn't like the half tartan seats but they have grown on me now after seeing lots of pics,,,, still happy with my full leather though  :happy2:

Scott, the OEM GTI and Ed30 suspension are exactly the same.

Is either the mpg or the road tax any different between GTI and Ed30? - I didn't think there were any differences between the two. R32 is different.

bingo, apologies rr, that's what I went to see, the r32
sorry got confused there
very hard ride
£800 or so road tax
I considered a Pirelli but didn't like the wheels on the pics at the time,,,, I wanted the golf gti for the Monza look as in my opinion it is still the best loking wheel that the gti has.
after a bit of time now I actually like the look of the Pirelli wheels and maybe I should have went to see one when I had the chance of one close to me.
one of the interiors I seen and I cant remember what car it was was weird and looked like it would burst easily,,, wasn't cloth, wasn't leather, was more like a spongy black elastic cloth ??? is that the Pirelli interior or am I going crazy here,,, whatever one it was I was thinking to myself - only a matter of time before my kids get that burst and a small hole will grow to a huge hole ?
in hindsight I think I would be looking for a more special edition gti like the Pirelli or the ed 30 but I am happy with my gti tbh and we all want more than we have lol,,,,,, damn what seet cover was that now,,, was def oem fit

GTI and EDITION30/Pirelli all cost the same for road tax, £250 but the .:R32 is a massive £460-£475.

Maybe the GTI you were in had 17" wheels as the Edition30 has 18" wheels, might be that re the comfort difference.
