Ok I accidentally caught both the heated rear window and recirc button together this morning and all 3 lights for the panel flashed (recirc, rear heated window & a/c) any ideas?

Not sure - suddenly got warmer in the car. Its a 2.0 TDi Jetta sport - does it have an aux interior heater?

you might have put it in test mode or something similar for a min or two, when you next use ya car test everything out, the interior heater if fitted is all auto you cannot make it come on via accidental button pushing
