« on: November 23, 2012, 02:44:48 pm »
2008 27k on clock with mild remap upto 180 and now the dreaded siren noise is here as per research its only audible at low speed.

Some say it's normal sone say it's bearing I don't know what to do!

its a well known problem on the 140PD, usually caused by failed turbo bearings. It will get worse over time and usually requires a new turbo to be fitted.

But what causes the failed turbo bearings? I was told reliably that it was due to the oil feed/return getting blocked with crap oil sludge??

My 140 has been doing it for a while too. I have a recon turbo to fit, just haven't gotten round to it. Lol.

I think mine was about 1.1k with a new turbo, intercooler and pipework etc. mine never made any siren noise, just exploded when overtaking. It still whistles but thats quite normal on many diesels
