S3/R32 brake lines
« on: November 22, 2012, 08:25:34 pm »
Going to fit my S3 brakes when I finish refurbish them.

I want to get rid of the crappy metal pipe on the back of the caliper.
Anyone done this before or is it better to keep it

I bought some off DaveB (but yet to fit) as my R32 brakes had the hard pipe removed. I need them as the wrong hoses have been used previously as they are stretched at full lock and are terribly frayed.

The hoses from DaveB or the ones above, are ideal as they compensate in length for the loss of the hard pipe.

Remember you'll also need caliper brackets to stop the hoses floating about - 1K0611842A & 1K0611841A
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Is there any performance benefit from this? My r32 calipers have the hard pipe fitted so 2 new brake lines will cost me £25-30 max from vw/tps.
