Hi, new mk5 gti owner
« on: November 23, 2012, 10:07:30 pm »
Hi fellow forum users, purchased my first GTI last Sunday. A nice mk5 tornado red 5dr DSG. Have been keeping an eye out for a golf and couldn't resist looking any longer and took the plung. Has got optional extras of tyre pressure sensors, cruise control, sunroof.

Previous owner made a few additions of respraying the monza's wrapped in nice khumos, drilled and grooved all round, stage 1 remap and best of all a RNS-510 with Bluetooth phone connectivity.

My previous car was a audi S3 8L, which was an amazing car. Had a lot of work done to it and got me hooked in vag. Unfortunately I ended up breaking achieve best finances, and have achieved enough to treat myself to the golf  got some great help from an audi forum for my s3 so knew it was essential to find one for the gti, so here I am and so far so good  :happy2:

haven't really had much time with the car yet, with work and dark nights. But have a couple of bit on the list:

Update rns-510 maps
Retro fit puddle lights in door cards
General tidy in the engine bay
Acquire VCDS HEX Can

was alway tempted to by vcds for the audi but never got round to it, but with the gti being newer think I will get a fair bit of use out of it! So hoping for a new GB soon or stumble across one in the classifieds.

James

Hi. Thanks for that link mc71, hadn't seen the LED ones!! Really need to sort out a vcds. Will put it on the Xmas list if I can hold off that long. haven't really had time to take my own pictures yet so here are some the seller supplied (chap in his 60's a true petrol head, just like I imagine I will be at his age) will get some of my own when / if the sun comes out! Regustration is being returned to seller and transferring my own on.

Another job for the list is to investigate built number once I have got my V5 back and get a plaque from here

I can imagine... The only plate I want costs £799, and for some reason all the plates around that ONE are 250. WHAT THE F***  :chicken:

Well started with the tax running out, got that then sent for transfer and said I need to wait for V5 first grrrrr. Yeah always frustrates when you look at plates and seems the ones you want are x3 the price!! Normally worth it though  :happy2: love having a personal plate, even just to his the age of the car. So far at work and and non-petrol head friends have thought my 05 is no older than a 10 reg thanks to still having previous owners personal reg for a while.
