I read this topic last week and thought that I would give it a go due to excessive stone chips and a couple of minor scratches. I can also confirm that the results are very suprising, and my headlights are like new. I am really happy with the results of the 3M kit and would recommend it. I payed £20, and its worth every penny.

Apologies to anyone who sells the Headlight restoration kits but going through the grades of Wet & Dry and keeping the surface of the headlamp (or rear lamp) wet with a soapy solution.  Patience and elbow grease is all!!  I've done a few sets of lamps now:

The aforementioned 'How To' is a perfect guide.
Good luck

Bought the 3M kit and got it through the post today.... question though the only drill we own is one for the mains, I can use an extension cable, but my issue is i'm not sure if the drill is too powerful , drill we have is this one http://goo.gl/X5ZFm  Anyone any idea if this is okay or not... any recommendations for cheap one that would be right

It should be ok because it has variable speed. To be sure though, watch the DIY video and try and match your speed to that in the video.

Mine are way beyond T-cut, I've been using Autosol on them for a while which has improved a little but that's stopped working now so I'll be using one of these kits shortly.
