Hardcore TT

I really can't see this happening. Although they're not for me, the beauty of the TT-RS and TT-S is that they do what they do very well. Creating a track focussed version will see the price rocket to a point where the competition are on another level.

it'll probably happen as a run out model, but i doubt it'll have a roll cage. think of it as a modern version of the original TT Sport that was the run out for the 8N version.

Hardcore TT?.....

^ Matt Farah knows his stuff  :notworthy:

It's stuff like this that gives me such big respect for APR's products.

If money was no object I'd love an Audi RS3 with this APR Stage 3 conversion.

Isn't it just big power stuff though?

....Yes, but that's how I interpreted the thread title. If Audi really want to go 'hardcore' it means big power. That APR TT-RS seems very practical.

I guess, though it could mean high power-to-weight. Audi are far more likely to pump up the BHP though.

....Agreed, upping the ECU's map is the easier route and probably cheaper to produce.

4 + 2 = 6

5 + 1 = 6

etc.

They'll have to do more than just tweak the map to sell it to customers, I would have thought.

The current TT-RS weighs in at over 1400kg, so 336bhp/1.4=240bhp/ton

a 1 ton model with a conservative 400bhp would be 400bhp/ton, which would easily put it into supercar baiting territory.

As Colin Chapman once said  "Add lightness" 8)
Golf R gone.

i reckon 1300kg and 370ish bhp is more realistic. i doubt Audi would want to stamp on the toes of the R8.
