Why don't you see if anybody near you has VCDS, I'm sure someone will be happy to help. :happy2:

I have a 7NO gateway is that the same as K?

Is it worth me trying the original  gateway?

Polar have asked me to try and update the firmwear again so will give that a try tomorrow (good job I put the unit in the cubby hole under the steering wheel)

I was planning on buying VCDS next year but If I cannot get the airbag fault cleared then I will have to get this sooner as my MOT is due in January

Ed according to polar, the last beta firmware and the latest 3.0 one have sorted that issue with the 7NO gateways.

No, not quite. I gave up and was going to carry on with it tomorrow. Was there a reason why you updated the firmware yourself as I was told they came with the newest version anyway?

There was a post on here saying that a new firmware had been released after my one was posted so I just assumed it would of been a newer version

I installed a 7NO gateway in September as I was getting the rns510 but my polar with firmware version 0.2.7 didn't like it as the radio and nav disappeared when scanned with vcds. Without the polar connected everything was fine.

After getting alot of support from polar including a then bespoke firmware that only partially helped, I resorted to reinstalling my old "non RNS510 compatible" F gateway. Everything works fine with no battery drain. The only silent issue I have is a non urgent error in vcds for the nav which works faultlessly. I may try the 7NO gateway in the future but at this time I see no urgent need to change even with the latest firmware supporting 7NO gateways.

Sounds like it can be glitchy.

My ultimate solution would be the Facelift / 2009 large display Cupra R clocks (white backlit) to replace my small screen 2008 Cupra clocks. Then add the polar.

I don't know where to start with the retrofit though or if it's even possible. I imagine it's like upgrading a mkV to the Mk6 colour screen or similar.
