Detail My Ride - Vauxhall GTC VXR
« on: November 29, 2012, 01:02:45 pm »
Hi Guys!

This is a pretty quick write up, however wanted to share a some pics of this car as its one we had been looking forward to for several months whilst the owner was waiting for the car!

The owner of this stunning new Vauxhall GTC VXR, finished in Summit White contacted us shortly after ordering the car, explaining that he wanted a similar treatment that was carried out on his Insignia a little while ago.

It was initially agreed we would have the car delivered to ourselves, directly from Vauxhall which is a service we offer, and allows us to fully PDI and detail the car ready for collection, without the dealers touching it! However, due to some issues with the car having to go back the car had racked up a few hundred miles before heading down to our studio.

The car was treated to a full Zaino detail, including:

- Pre rinse, application of citrus degreaser to remove loose dirt, and previous polish/wax deposits
- Wheels, tyres and arches cleaned AS Smart Wheels/G101, soft metal free, natural hair brushes
- Vehicle washed using Zaino Z-7 Show Car Wash, inc door shuts
- Vehicle paintwork clayed using Zaino Z-18 Clay Bar to remove bonded contaminants
- Various light scratches/defects corrected via Meguiars D-100 Microfibre System
- Vehicle paintwork cleansed using Zaino Z-AIO, applied via machine polisher to cleanse paintwork and leave a high gloss finish in preperation for sealant
- Zaino Z-6 Wipedown prior to sealant application
- Zaino Z2/Z5 (ZFX) sealant to provide maximum protection and gloss
- Zaino Z-8 Grand Finale Spray wipe down
- Wheels sealed with Zaino C-S Clear Seal
- Glass cleaned, tyres, plastics and rubbers dressed, exhaust tips polished and protected
- Full interior detail, including Zaino Z-9 and Z-10 leather treatment

Unfortunately we had a very tight turnaround for the car, so pics are limited to before/after i'm afraid!

Before:

In addition to the Zaino protection, the carpet mats were given some Nanolex treatment:

After shots, the sun attempted to come out! Enjoy!

Thanks for looking guys!

Comments, questions etc welcome as usual!

Nathan & Gaz

Actually not a bad looking car. Lose the chrome grill and a bit less plasticky inside and it would be excellent.

How does it go?

I was really impressed with it, Brembo's, Recaro's, Diff etc etc. It's been mapped and has a zorst so I'd imagine it goes pretty well!!

I'll give your feedback to Gaz! Unfortunately Rich we rarely get the time we'd like to take the pics, but as long as the customer who is in front of the car is happy then were happy!  :happy2:

Absolutely... just as I was when I picked up mine. Im in no way questioning either of your skills regarding DMR... you'll see my car again no doubt (once the front end it sorted out)

I saw Insignia VXR in Germany over summer.

Just re-read what I wrote and I probably sound a bit defensive, but I actually agreee with you and the pics should be of better quality. We haven't really found the right solution with regard the camera and just end up using that we have as apposed to buying something specific.  :happy2:

There is someone that posts on here (I forget who) that works for Vauxhall and can get about £8k off the retail price. Very tempting for £20k with the spec!!
