you won't fail emissions because of the pre-cat. Just make sure the car has a decent run on the way to the testing station  :happy2:

I think you are confusing the main cat with the pre-cat. Pre-cat removal will give you about 5bhp and a much better turbo spool  :happy2:

Our GTI is going to Cobra Sport on Monday for them to develop a full system for the GTI. 3" turbo back with the option of sports cat or de cat and resonated/non resonated. They will be the cheapest 'off the shelf' system for the GTI I would have thought.

We sell loads of their systems for Vauxhalls and a few for Fords as well and the quality is always spot on. If people want a full turbo back system I would wait and see what we have to show in the way of pics and videos in 2 weeks when we get it back.

Will be very interested in this, what sort of prices are we looking at?

Please don't quote me on this when they come out as it could be a bit more but I am expecting in the region of:

Non res de cat £640
Res de cat £670
Non res sports cat £790
res sports cat £820

So as far as I know that is the cheapest on the market. There will also be a cat back option that will be in the region of £370 for non res and £400 for resonated. I'm excited by the prospect of them to be honest as quite often we get people turning their nose up at the Milltek price and understandably at times to be honest!

Please do not confuse the fact they will be cheap as them being rubbish. I have NEVER had a Cobra system fail on me yet and I get no more fitting issues with them than any other manufacturer. After sales support from them is great as well.

A group buy is an option once we have tested it for a few weeks.

What with you and Nige at BCS with there powervalve system should have Milltek shaking in their boots!

Or perhaps they might reduce their prices and or up the workmanship (have heard some bad things about quality of Milltek). Competition in the free market economy can only be good for the customer :happy2:

No I just thought removing the pre cat would cause MOT failure, but I having read various threads including yours before I understand. :happy2:

Think I might remove the pre cat when I get back from Afghan in January as I will have plenty of time off :smiley:

My post was abit tongue in cheek, Milltek are a large company with numerous outlets and will not be worried :happy2:  Just think it is good for us enthusiasts to have more options :smiley:

Back in the eighties (showing my age) the only option I had when running my mark 1 Fiesta Supersport was Janspeed and I seem to remember something called a 'Cherry Bomb'.

Look forward to progress on this and at the posted prices give or take I will be up for buying. What sort of exhaust tips are they going to have?

I am going to have a look but I think just the normal twin round slash cut job will do the trick. Cobra normally offer a few options though with their systems so I guess they will test fit a few on the car while they have it.

I will start a thread about it when I get the car back.

Supersport....Great little cars. Still miss my old one after all these years.

Supersport....Great little cars. Still miss my old one after all these years.

I had two, first one had a vinyl roof with sunroof and headlight washers, water container was massive! This one had the Janspeed exhaust and manifold and used to fly, the speedo needle used to rest on the trip button on the dash, would trash my mates nova 1.3 SR :happy2:

Second one was just bog standard. Moved onto having a colour coded Mk2 XR2 in red, (loved that car even with the torque steer) remember driving it in Wales upsetting a few lads in an XR3i going up a hill and flying past, oh to be 21 again!!!!!
