No boost
« on: December 01, 2012, 02:09:02 pm »
2 weeks ago felt a little pop when I boosted in 1st. Thougt DV gone, but car continued to boost ok. Today on the motorway the boost has suddenly gone completely. No EML's or smoke or anything.

I presume the pop was the initial split and it has opened up over the 2 weeks and now is completely torn? Rev C DV, 47k miles, stage 1 about 1500 miles ago.

Please tell me I'm right and the turbo itself hasn't blown?

Sounds like the dv and very easy to check on an ed30.

Start with the things that you can easily check before thinking something exotic is up...

^^^Quite right...my mind does tend to wander and expect the worst.

I had a sore throat a while back, went on google and deduced that I had Multiple Sclerosis! My sister is a GP and just laughed at me.

youd need to scan it to really know whats going on (within reason) just keep an eye on it and maybe over the weekend have a visual inspection of the hoses and dv

^^^Cheers Nez.

When you say hoses I presume you mean the ones from the IC? I'm not really clued up on turbo hoses so if you could tell me where to look? Hopefully I can check them from the engine bay and not have to get the axle stands out...

im afraid you will mate, axel stands remove the under tray and the larger black pipe on the drivers side going to the ic check that and then check the hose on the passanger side going to the throttle body (comes from the ic into a metal tube) check the metal connectors arnt movinf or feel loose. when i went stage 2 my hose started to blow off from a dodgy connector. and then for th dv theres plenty of threads with images on where and what to look for :)
