« on: June 26, 2009, 09:18:20 am »
I usually use the following products when cleaning my cars :

Megs Soft Wash Gel for shampoo
Megs Gold Class Clear Coat Paste Wax
Megs NXT Tech Wax for the wheels
ProTech Wheel Cleaner
ProTech Tyre Dressing
Jewelultra Diamondbrite Conditioner

As to cloths and applicators:
2 Buckets
ProTech Sponge
Megs foam Applicators
Megs Water Magnet drying Towel and
Megs Microfibre buffing cloths.

Well, since I'm running out of stuff and have been reading about new and exciting products on here I've never heard of... I've decided to do some shopping... this is in my on-line basket so far.. am I missing something important?

Vikan - Wheel Brush
Trim & Tyre Dressing Applicator
Poorboys Wheel Sealant
Meguiars High Gloss Tyre gel
Sonus Perfect Shine Drying Towel
Valet Pro - PH Neutral Snow Foam
Foam Lance - Karcher fitting
Dodo Juice - Sour Power Shampoo 500ml
Miracle Dryer - Ultra Plush 25" x 36"
Sonus Sheepskin Wash Mitt x 2
Dodo Juice - Supernatural v2
Sonus - Blue Perl Buffing towels Pkg/2

Looks good but i would personaly ditch the tyre trim applicator pad and just use an old applicator you have lying around. Also if you aint done it before add a clay bar to your list If not at least add some pre paint cleanser such as dodo lime prime to remove any old wax currently on the car and cleanse the paint this will insure a top notch surface for the wax to bond to as the wax only adds 1% to the finish the other 99% is down too pre wax preparation. Good luck with the foam gun too they are awsome :happy2: HTH

^^^Completely agree with the prep thing. When I knew jack al about detailing, I washed and clayed my car. It looked brand new! No LSP, no polish, nothing.

As for the tyres, I bought the megs tyre dressing applicator and love it. Much reasier than using a cloth. Not sure about a standard 'applicator'.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

All the stuff arrived yesterday.

Couldn't wait and snow foamed the car. Works brilliantly. Then used the Dodojuice sour power shampoo with the dead sheep mitt... smells lovely and works really well. Then dried it all off with a mad Sonus drying towel - wow! Then got busy with the Dodo juice supernatural wax.. did the whole car two coats and then the poor boys wheel sealant .. again two coats, plus two coats of the Megs tyre dressing stuff (hmmm berries). Absolutely brilliant result and great products... best I've used. However......

The neighbours across the street have now complained that I wash the car too much and they are fed up with the noise of the pressure washer :(

too many retired people in my street with nothing better to do.
