andybon's Golf 2.0 tdi sport.
« on: December 02, 2012, 05:01:21 pm »
I joined up yesterday so thought I would do a quick write up of my car.

I got it at the end of October as my last car (a Lexus IS200 Sport) was costing too much to run, So on the hunt for a decent Golf I went. After looking at a few and not liking them i went to one last garage before giving up the hunt for a while. There I seen a 57 plate Golf 2.0 TDI sport with full dealer service history, 49k on the clock, one owner and in near enough as new condition! So I jumped at it!

As soon as I got it home I vowed to keep it standard................That lasted all of a week. After deciding that the wheels I had in the shed that I removed from the lexus going to waste (I got them in a 5x112 fitment and used wobble bolts on them) I decided to see if they would fit the Golf, And they fit perfectly! So ordered a set of spigot rings and VW centre cap badges and put them on.

[/URL]

Then it had a major service consisting of all the filters, belts and fluids along with a water pump for piece of mind. When I replaced the air filter I changed it for a K&N panel filter as I do with all my cars. Also swapped the headlight and main beam bulbs with a set of Osram night breaker plus bulbs and fitted a vw polo aerial.

Then this little lot arrived.

A genuine front center armrest with rear vent pipe, A full set of Bosch wiper blades, New personalized number plates and a Grom Audio I pod connection interface. Fitted all of these over a weekend along with a Parrot ck3100 handsfree kit that I removed from my Lexus when I sold it.

Then this last week I have had it Remapped by Awesome GTI which makes it go like sh1t off a hot shovel and I fitted my powerflex dog bone mount kit in it today (What a difference that has made  ) along with a good wash polish and interior valet.

Just waiting for my Team Heko wind deflectors and lockwood stainless sill plates to arrive along with a new undertray which has gone missing!

Future plans so far are to lower it slightly say about 35mm and have the rear windows tinted something near the style of the OEM tints, and to get another number plate holder for the front as I smashed that putting it on!

After that i'm stuck with what to do, So any suggestions would be nice  :scared:

It sure is! I like the little touches that surprise you, Basically anything OEM.  MAXITROL have you got a link to it  :happy2:

Just wandering if these can have the auto lock feature put onto them, I had a Seat Ibiza a few years ago that had it, Where as soon as the car reached 10mph the  doors locked automatically.

Might ask for this to be done when I get round to having the cruise control retrofitted.

Like the Highline clocks, I can see them been expensive and a pian to fit though!

I'm glad, I'm sorry but I hated those wheels  :ashamed:

I would say go for somthing like classix, or even monzas?

Here is an example, not mine!  :P

I like the classix, but looking for 18's as a minimum.

So far I have these shortlisted.

swaying between new RS6, Golf R wheels and the r32/r36 style wheels.

Golf R wheels

R32/R36 Style wheels

RS6

Going more towards the Golf R wheels
