Stage 2+ KO3 GTI VS stage 1 edition 30
« on: December 02, 2012, 09:47:49 pm »
So the story go's I currently have a stage 1 edition 30 with,

Blue flame TBE
VWR ARBs F/R
VWR Lower engine/transmission mounts
VWR Spings (soon to be replaced with B12s)
WALK

It's a fully specked 5 door with DSG (love the DSG)

My other GTI is a stock engine KO3 car fully specked apart from DSG & has the following,

WALK
Eibach pro springs
New engine/transmission mount with insert
Rear lower arms polybushed
K&N filter And a few other bits

It's a 3 door tornado red car and is immaculate

Basically I've had the red gti up for sale for around 3/4 weeks now with no interest at all. Over the time I've owned it I've spent a small fortune and put a lot of time into it.

My edition 30 was bought as an impulse buy as I've always wanted one. It's a great car and is seriously fast compared to my red gti and I really enjoy using the DSG.

My dilemma is I don't want to sell my red gti for a big loss so I've been thinking of keeping it and selling the edition 30 as they're seems to be a better market for them...

Doubt i could go back to a stock motor so my choice would be stage 1 with TBE OR all out at stage 2+

How would the power compare to a stg1 ed30 & would it end up costing me a fortune to get to stg2+?

Stage 1 Eddy - 300ish bhp
Stage 2+ GTI - 280ish bhp

keep the Eddy. even if you don't go Stage 2+ it'll still be faster. the interior is nicer too imho

Yeah the ed30 will be way quicker down the 1/4 mile and all those times you race stuff past 100mph.

A 2+ ko3 imo in normal road/fast road conditions is just as quick as a ed30 would be in stage 1 dare I say even stage 2.

All in my experience and my opinion.
