Question about softwere update

Hi there my friend has an 09 plate scirocco 2.0 tdci i belive and has just had a revo map done and his mdf now shows what gear he is in when driving and arrows to show when to change gear and he was told because he had a service at the same time too it was updated and thats why

So my question is
Can this be done on my gti on an 06 plate ? Or is not true ?

Tdci is a ford diesel engine  :grin:

TDI is the vw group diesel engine. You probably knew that  :happy2:
