Best Boost Gauge 2012
« on: December 04, 2012, 09:13:46 pm »
hey up guys, looking to fit myself a boost gauge to keep an eye on the pressure. Which is the best boost gauge out there at the minute?

I have read some other threads on boost gauges. But no one  has really confirmed which ones are good.

Can you please recommend some and if you have a good installation guide that would be awesome too.

Cheers guys

I've got this gauge fitted. Seems accurate and has been in with no issues for probably 18months

Definitely Defi make the best but they are probably the most expensive. They can record boost levels for later analysis. cmdrfire has Defi gauges on his Mk5 GTI.

I have Newsouth - The display perfectly matches the Mk5 GTI OEM instruments.

Hey RR, where did you but it from? Was it easy enough to install?

I mounted it into the drivers side vent (on a Leon though)

Like them in the right hand side vent. Look very OEM and the blue light is the same as the other dials at nighttime but you can't use the vent probably though. Can also be mounted on the central column. Goes off to find a review........

Here you go. Robins review....

^^^^ sorry matey! I'll type slower in future.

Just been off to look for the Defi Gauge, seem to be over £100 more expensive than the Newsouth Gauge.

Yeah i think i will look at the NewSouth, dont want to spend too much when it pretty much the same thing. Just wondering how hard they are to install. Between me and my mate we have a decent DIY standard.....might have too look it to it...

Looks good, does anyone have one of these?

i was considering trying to organise a GB, but i figured that most people would just get the Polar FIS+ instead? so really it's only Audi owners who would potentially be interested as the Polar FIS doesn't work on the Audi DIS

Lol you should edit the thread title to say "Best boost gauge on a budget" The Defi gauges are more expensive for a reason!

I have a newsouth boost gauge and this:

http://www.newsouthperformance.com/pod029.htm

The newsouth gauges have an issue with them never really returning to 0, if you tap them the dial then moves. (not on all of them)
