No it is not installed. I was hoping by removing the polar unit it would bring the upper display back but seems like this is not the case. This is why I wanted others to post a video of theirs so I can show auto polar its not normal.

The screen and back light should be ok as when you first get into the car it illuminates correctly...  :confused:

When the upper screen goes black, do you still see the clock on your sat nav if you turn it off?

This assumes your nav is running a firmware that supports the clock showing on its screen when turned off with the key in the ignition.
Without traction power is nothing!

Do you mean a clock on the RNS, if so I dont have a clock on my RNS.

Mine is exactly the same as Maxitrol's when the driver door is open, either with ignition key in and engine running, ignition key in but engine not running, or ignition key out.

Mine is a October 2005 on a 55 plate.

Thanks for your input Ian- I dont suppose you could take a short video when you are next out in your car. It would be much appreciated as I want to show auto polar how it should look rather than them telling me mines normal.

I just need as many videos or pics as poss to back me up.
