Mk5 Newbie with key issue
« on: December 05, 2012, 12:28:10 pm »
Hi all

recently bought a GT TDI (05) with a DSG gearbox and unfortunately it only came with the one key.

Whilst the key works in terms of manually unlocking the car and ignition, it does not unlock, lock or boot pop.

I have changed the battery and tried using the syncing process outlined in the manual, but it will not take. nothing happens.

Whats the best thing to do in this case. Ideally i'd rather not have to go to the dealer (extortionate prices!!) to get this corrected.

I live in North West London, is there something someone with VCDS can do?

Thanks

Yes you can clear all remotes in your CCM module, then resync the key. Takes a minute to do.

If that fails, the remote part is probably dead. A used remote fob with same part number can be synced using above method.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

On this note, is there someone with VCDS in North West London / Reading that would like some beer tokens, that can help me?

Thanks
