MK5 Race Car
« on: December 08, 2012, 03:18:41 pm »
Hi im new the forum.
Ive managed to buy a rolling 3dr GTi shell for next to nothing and have decided to turn it in to my next race car for the Quaife Motorsport saloon car championship (QMN) currently i race a 420bhp mk3.

The MK3

The rolling shell

Sqs Shifter

Caddy power steering rack

Pedal box mount

Dummy engine in, Yes a 1.8T only because i'm using my old MK3 engine with the Dog box, the only problem ive found is the drive shafts dont fit the 02j box.

Looking good Steve.  You still running me old BT downpipe on the GT28 turbo?

Check the length of some MK4 golf gti shafts as they may fit.

They should be the same.  You should be able to swap the outer cv's to the MK5 versions if they are not.

Suspension = KW V3 with altered spring rates but for some reason ive got 50mm of rear wheel arch clearance on the lowest setting

Brakes = VW Motorsport 6 pots with 360mm floating discs

Wheels = Team Dynamics 1.2's with Porsche cup slicks

Today ive managed to fit the rad and fans in the front panel and tomorrow i'll have a go at the front mount intercooler.
