Installing Xenon Headlights
« on: December 09, 2012, 05:08:38 pm »
I've got a complete set of xenon headlights with the 10-12 pin adapters for my gt tdi. Is installing simply a case of removing the halogen lamps and connecting the xenons using the adapters or does it require more extensive work? These are the adapters I have:

Will most likely also need coding with vagcom, I'd highly recommend installing the pin 11 wire for the high beam shutter

(I like the sig :happy2:)

How would I go abouts installing pin 11?

Might need to put that as a decal on the car.

Pin 11 activates the bi-xenon functionality which opens a shutter when on high beam.

Same here, I  had help installing Xenons. but it's as easy as lights out lights in. once you remove under tray and front bumper.

You'll need a wire for Pin 11 runs through the bulk head to the CCM under the pass side I believe and then re activating as Bi Xenon in VCDS,

Isn't it wired to under the drivers side?

Does anyone have a pic of what the shutter looks like? (might be a silly question).

I bought some Brand new OEM replacements and they have (exactly like the OEMs) a halogen for high beam - so how does this shutter work? Both the halogen high beam and xenon come on together?

Possibly I can't remember, but it goes to the control unit , I'm not sure which side this is on.
