Hello Tom

Take a look in the Detailing Section... There are a few very useful threads there on this exact topic  :happy2:

I would recommend a decent shampoo and wash mitt. Use the 2 bucket method and also use a decent drying towel to prevent any scratching.

A good wax will give you a decent finish to the paintwork and make it easier to clean next time around.

Rinse
Wash using AutoWash Car Shampoo - 2 bucket method - with sheepswool wash mitt
Bottom of car washed using seperate wash mitt
Rinse
Dry using AutoPerfection Super Plush Drying Towel (can dry whole car without wringing once!! A great towel for drying the car within minutes!)
Dry bottom of car with seperate microfibre towel.
Clean windows with AutoGlym Fast Glass
Clean alloys with seperate wash mitt (I do have PoorBoys wheel sealer but can never be bothered to remove wheels and use it!!)
Megs Endurance High Gloss Tyre shine gel on tyres.
Optimum Car Wax entire car - a spray wax so it doesnt take hours to apply!

Remove car mats and hoover inside car.
I have some cheap Tesco's dash wipes to clean dash area.
Sometimes I treat the part leather with some leather cleaner and conditioner I have - I forgot the name of the one I use though!

Whole process takes a couple of hours

You have 2 buckets of water.
Bucket 1 has the car shampoo.
Bucket 2 is just plain water.

Wash mitt goes into Bucket 1 (with shampoo), you then wash the car.
Wash mitt goes into bucket 2, rinse the mitt a little to clean.
Mitt then back in bucket 1..........and so on.......

Basically, you use the second bucket to wash all the contaminents and crap off of the wash mit, so that the bucket with the shampoo stays cleaner, and you're not putting all the same dirt back over your car.

To be honest, both buckets have dirty water at the end of the wash, but at least you get a lot of the crap off into the second bucket and it doesnt go back onto the car.
