DPF pressure sensor...
« on: December 11, 2012, 05:59:25 pm »
Hey guys...

My brother had my car yesterday and informed me of a fault and possibly needing a DPF pressure sensor.

Am I right in thinking there was a recall on these? I'm sure I read this before...

Cheers.

I changed this a while ago. Not sure about it being on a recall but the sensor you will buy is definitely a revised item. Bit of a pig to change aswell.

Thanks. I really can't remember where I read it!

Think ill just get him to price the part and do it for me anyway!

Did you notice anything different with the car once changed?

Cheers.

Is this the fault your are getting?

001139 - Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 (G450)
               P0473 - 006 - Signal too High - MIL ON

To be honest I couldn't tell a difference with the car apart from it clearing the fault. All the G450 sensor is doing is comparing the pressure before and after the DPF to calculate the soot content.

Here was my old one:

And the revised one:

Also have a look at this link. Got some info on the DPF system.

Hope this helps  :happy2:

when you fit the new one make sure these are no blockages in the rubber hoses that lead from the sensor.

To remove the hoses use a small pick or very thin screwdriver to prise a little of the hose away from the plastic part of the sensor and spray some wd40 into the gap, twist the hose a little and it will come off easily. if you just try and pull it the inside of the hose will stay on the sensor and the outside sheath will come away.

I have no idea what fault is coming up.

He's got me one today and will be doing it by the weekend hopefully.

Wasn't as expensive as I expected either :)

Cheers
