about 350 miles usually on momentum but have got 400 miles out of it before, this is commute to work so some 60mph dashes but mainly crawling through town getting out and crawling back getting in.

£65 isn't a full tank though eh? Or did you already have 1/4 tank? If you reset your avg mpg and drive like miss daisy your range should creep up

I only get about 230 miles to a full tank and that's taking it easy.

What am I doing wrong? Car is stage2+ ko3 and live in London

I'd be happy if I get any 300 miles like some have mentioned

my last 5 tanks of Tesco momentum from first click to fuel light on (not empty )
tank1 = 322m
tank 2 = 306m
tank 3 = 308m
tank 4 = 314m
tank 5 = 318m
averaging between 29-31.5mpg
mostly b roads and mostly careful driving
cant seem to get any more but im sure the car is running on bog standard oil,,,, prob doesn't help,,, oil change soon

I've heard that FST oil is meant to be decent mate. ;-)
lone par you are a bit childish by constantly trying to bring up a dead subject, don't you get embarrassed by being WELL JUST YOU !!!
I would, but saying that being from Dunfermline there isn't much hope on the horizon I guess  :stupid:

Why do you have a GTI if you drive it normal all the time....surely you would be best with a 1.8 Diesel if mileage is what its all about for you.
that would be a fair point, it's just that I have had the kids a lot lately in the car so hence the reason for the careful driving.
between full tanks I usually stick in £20 or so and have some fun  :driver:

Nothing wrong with those figures mate, I get the same.  It's because we live in London, all the stop starting  :sad1:
Unless I do motorway miles I get nowhere near the 300 mile mark!!

I was wondering this. I've been driving like my nan since my last fill up and I got 28mpg.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't buy the car for the mpg but was More interested in exactly what I could achieve and apparently it's not a lot!

Unless your Nan likes her trackdays, that's pretty poor - I can easily get 35MPG, over 40 on a run with no more than 70mph...  it's all about the amount of throttle, anticipating slowing down etc. etc.

I found it better after Stage 1 than stock for the sensible driving....

For mixed driving pushing on a bit using the torque band, around 30-33MPG is usual.

Completely tearing it up and it's mid teens  :driver:

MUCH better than my mates ST though... I couldn't get it over 30MPG... and had it down to 9MPG over a few miles of spirited driving... all in all I reckon the ST is ~ 7-10MPG worse than the GTI.  And now I'm on Stage 1 the GTI is quicker too.

Thanks for filling with me confidence! Unfortunately my nan doesn't like her track days  :signLOL:

Over 30mpg on a run? I wish! It's 15miles for me to get to work and it's mostly dual carriageways, only about 2 miles involves traffic lights.

Which remap do you have?

Ouch, didn't realise st's were that bad, definitely coudnt afford to run one of those...
