Can you not trick the fuel computer anyway.... Get the engine up to temp sit at 55mph or so the instant fuel economy reading is very good then hit the re set button on both of the 1 and 2 settings... I think this alter's the computers tank range figure...

Haha, yeah but you don't actually get any more miles to the tank!

.
About 300 miles per tank - Calculated on a 460 mile journey taking in all types of roads but averaging at a speed I won't publish. Worth every £ in terms of driving enjoyment.

I usually get about 28 mpg on most journeys and very very rarely over 30 mpg. I use the gears a lot (DSG M-mode) and don't practice any fuel economy techniques.

Really... LOL... not what I was getting at... But if you have a very low average over a lot of mile's I think the computer uses that as a benchmark for the range it will show. Has the OP tried re setting it ?

Mine is about the same as RR ... Also dsg, Maybe a tad higher on longer runs 32 ish...

Always looks good when you come to sell a car..... look sir she does 39 MPG round the town   :signLOL:

Mines a TDI 170 and I filled up with £70 worth of diesel, drove 510 miles until the light came on.

Consisted on urban driving and some "spirited" driving!  so could expect more if on a long journey.

Last car was an A3 2.0 TSFI and lucky if I got 300 miles out of it so quite happy with that !

That's some good going, I could only get that pout of my 170 if I was really careful.... You sure your computer works properly? :-\

I very rarely fill the tank, however overall I'm getting slightly worse fuel economy with custom TBE (with 200 cell cat) and Milltek back-end. Usually 29-31mpg on the drive to-from work (7 miles) which works out about 55 miles to a tenner..

When the car was standard, I averaged 38mpg on the computer on a drive to Alton Towers (managed 400 miles to a tank) and since I had the 200 cell etc fitted I managed to get 36mpg on the same run. Not complaining  :happy2:
