Taking apart Xenon Headlights

Anyone taken apart their Genuine Xenon headlights on here?

want to see how easy it will be.....

my car is an April 2005 build

Apparently it's not easy at all. You need to cut some plastic away and then cut the sealant with a knife. I was keen on doing the Joey mod, but after reading up on it, thought better of it. Last thing I want to do is have to go out and buy some more headlights after destroying a perfectly good pair.

Hi Fella,its not easy at all,a hole lot of problems may arise from splitting the SEALED vw units,fogging of the units, projector lens damage(alingment) if not done correctly,and not to mention dampness getting in. imho its not worth it m8,but were you to do it id buy a cheap standard headlight unit to practice on first.before attempting it on your very exspensive xenon units. good luck  :happy2: :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:
