The Dunlops have been pretty bad since the spring of last year when I guess they were less than half worn.
On fast sweeping motorway bends in damp conditions (off the M60 not far from us) they just feel like they are going to let go at any moment. I appreciate their is a lot of power to help break the traction but I've had plenty of powerful cars in my time and I have least confidence in the golf with these tyres in damp conditions, its great in the dry. Maybe its just a sensation or misconception on my part because they've never actually sent me into a ditch. They just don't inspire confidence. I think I mentioned elsewhere, but I've had wheelspin accelerating to 80mph and beyond (Ahem 70mph officer) joining some motorway junctions.
Mileage wise they were already on my car when I bought it at 4300 miles last year and its slowly approaching 20k now. The tyres still all have approx 3mm of tread (the back maybe more, I rotated them early summer this year). So I should get a good 18,000 miles out of them and I don't drive particularly sedately but on the other hand I don't drag race every traffic light - I'd lose anyway as the car would just sit and spin its tyres haha.
Reading other feedback it may well be the Goodyears going on mine next time round then. I'll deffo report my feelings when I do.
