TomTom home
« on: December 17, 2012, 10:40:29 pm »
Close to pulling my teeth out.  :fighting:
2 faults. firstly it is saying i have 3 updates which are the usual for a system a year old. It is maps and cameras, but when i connect my TomTom to puter it recognises it fine but says no updates. Cleared the cache as requested by TomTom employee but no joy.
secondly, just bought the live service for another year from the website. And i cant find anything on my puter or any instructions on how to download it.
Close to crying, anyone able to help before i go mental on the phone.

Have you a paid tomtom a subscription for the latest maps? I suspect after a year you won't get an automatic map update download.

You get one free with a new device, i have just never been able to get it from them.
My HD live traffic ran out this week so have just bought another year, how to get it from them is my problem.  :sad1:

Did you not get an email comfirming your purchase with the necessary download link(s)?
Also is your device registered when you connect it to Home? You should see your registered email address at the top right of Home when your device is connected.

Hmm, when ever I've purchased a year of map updates in the past I have always received a confirmatory email at my registered address and downloaded the updates via home.
I suspect that there may be some sort of glitch at TomTom so that their system doesn't know of your purchase hence no download update.

Try pairing your phone with TT. I bought the speed camera update for 1 year but couldn't pair the TT with the PC or laptop. I ended up d/l'ing updates through the phone but over wifi to save on 3G.
