Hi all,

Just wondering the cheapest place for a set of 18" tyres, funds are tight so I'm going to have to settle for budgets.... Camskill my best shot?

Thanks All!

Camskill are very competitive... but perhaps some 2nd hand premiums on eBay or in the for sale section on here, if funds are tight.

Tyreland, but that's only any use if you live in the south!

My car had budget tyres fitted when I bought it.  Michelin PS3s totally transformed the car,  in terms of grip (especially in the wet), noise and comfort.  Investigate pre-worn tyres before you make a false economy.

Shadow blue DSG 5 door with leather, sunroof, 18" Monzas, MFSW.
Full list of mods:  Seat inserts and a VW bottle opener.  Each worth 20bhp.

Buy cheap, buy twice.

Camskill for buying only amd TyreShopper for buying and fitted at the company of your choose.

+2 part worn tyres are a false economy most of the time. Budget tyres will ruin the car. If funds are tight, hold out for premium tyres or buy part worn tyres but make sure they're not too old and make sense financially. e.g. not 80% worn at only 50% of the price.

Whatever prices you find online ring a few local indy tyre places and see if they are able to match the price.

You might struggle to get tyre fitters to fit brand new tyres that you sourced yourself.

Im in total agreement that budgets are shocking however its simply all I can afford :(

If someone can find me a set of 18" part-worn premiums for around the £200 mark im all ears :)

One of the best bits of advice I was given on here was from Red Robin, who pointed out that each tyre has an area the size of a compact disc which is actiually in contact with the road! Gulp!  :driver: I therefore want that rubber to be top-end. part worn premiums are a much better bet.
