Yep, I've just been reading it. 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds is RAPID :driver:

Not sure about their choice of brakes or coil overs though ......and still running 225 section tyres! :surprised: come on APR you should be rocking 235's as a minimum.

Also good to read the histology of the performance AWD golfs. Plus the long awaited 2dr Golf R test drive.

I thought those AST coilovers were excellent.  They are the only ones i've ever tried that aren't crashy on normal roads.  If i was in the market for some coilovers they would top my last thats for sure.  Ive decided against coilovers full stop though.

Why 235's?  its doing a 3.3 0-60 so its not traction.  And too much grip will mean it bogs down surely.

More grip means better cornering as well as being able to launch at a higher rpm.

I'm running 235's and they are superb  and I'd probably go even wider!

I'm a pot count whore remember Mat  also over on the R forum I've had reports that they squeal a little. Not sure if it is the set-up or the pads though.

Not needed IMO.  Its still a road car at the end of the day, its not a race car.  When i had it i dont think at any point it crossed my mind that it needed wider tyres or any more grip.  Too much grip will just end up being boring anyway, a little slipping and sliding is needed  :driver:
