It measures anything you want. Gives you a better idea of how fast your car really is than a 1/4 mile. (Sometimes even fast cars will post slow 1/4 mile times relatively)

Sorry for the delay, am away on holiday and can't get online much.  can get 15% discount for 10+ units

Here's the prices page:

http://www.performancebox.co.uk/prices.html

Difference between 1 and 2 is a power cable for powering it up from a mains supply and a 2gb HD card.

nice one Dave!

Just a question and I welcome all thoughts on this. Is there a way to deduct VAT for this GB and what are the rules around it from accounting stand point? We had some BG run this way but was never sure about the legal view

Thanks

Would need someone self employed or with a business to do that, and possibly a requirement of paying cash.

Everything we supply is subject to VAT unless its being sent outside of the UK.

Everything Racelogic supply will have the same rules.

The only way to 'gain' the VAT back is if you are a VAT registered business or individual and wish to use the item for business use, you can then reclaim the VAT in your next return. Any other methods of avoiding the VAT are illegal.

quite possibly, what does it allow you to measure? just 0-30, 0-60, 0-100 etc?

See here link to manufacturer's web site

http://www.performancebox.co.uk/performance_meter.html

Some guys who used it before here might be able to comment

And some extracts

Not only is the new PerformanceBox the most sophisticated Performance meter on the market, but it is also one of the simplest to use, with many features normally found only on professional test equipment. You can quickly measure the acceleration, braking and cornering performance of your car without having to set anything up beforehand, and there is no need to perform any calibration. Because PerformanceBox is based on GPS, you get so much more for your money than just a simple performance meter.

PerformanceBox uses a GPS system with an update rate of 10 samples per second, which is the fastest GPS engine in its class. From this you get a very accurate speed (±0.1kmh), cornering g-force, acceleration g-force and a very accurate distance measurement (±10cm in 400m).

Performance ranges and units are fully user adjustable, which means if you want to measure a specific acceleration or deceleration range, for example 35-65, then this is very easy to do.

This is a cool feature
Another very powerful feature is the ability to export your PerformanceBox position files to Google Earth, allowing you to plot your vehicle's path onto a satellite image of the area.

This is the best box on the market AFAIK.

Paul

You can export the data and use it on a video overlay application like Dashware too.

Although, my preferable choice for this purpose would be to use something like a Contour +2 and import the video/gps data directly from that into Dashware.

Thanks Dave it's clear now!

We should start GB now since we have prices and this will allow all to commit.

The only difference between stage 1 and 2 is the SD memory card and a cable to connect the box to PC?? If I go with stage 1 the box won't have the port for USB or it's exactly the same box as stage 2 but without memory card and a cable. In other words if I go stage 1 and have a cable and SD card this will allow me to connect the box to PC etc
