Fitting iPod vw kit information needed
« on: December 22, 2012, 06:40:25 pm »
Hi just bought the plug n play vw iPod kit

I plugged n played but nothing happening :(

Read the book and says take out brown wire from black terminal cars loom and put brown wire from iPod kit into it and put the wire fron car into iPod loom and click together

Would that be right in doing it and it will work?

Getting a terminal removal tool after Christmas to do this but was wondering if anyone else had to do this

It's a rcd 300 stereo

Any help would be ace cheers :)

Try touching it on the back of the radio. The one I have in mine just required the small screw taking out the back, A wire wrapping around it and it worked.
How hard can it be?

if you add a smal bit of wire to the brown wire and attach it to the radio or dash frame that will be ok

I fitted one a while back, it only works when it has an earth

And not bother with the male clip at all?

As u can see am useless with wires lol just always read the instructions u see :)

You can wire it up how the vw instruction are listed but you must follow it 100%

or you can add a bit of wire to the brown wire and find an earth on the radio case or dashboard mount
