....

If your car is modded I think it's best to pay an insurer who covers you like-for-like. It will cost you much more than any extra premium if you have a claim and can only recuperate the cost of standard parts.

Greenlight understand what silicone pipes and Quaife diffs are, whereas most others don't have a clue even what carbonfibre is!

I'd only really use AF & Greenlight on a modded car, been with both and Greenlight for the past 2 years. prices were always pretty much the same, as was terms of cover.

Greenlight's £25 a pop for changes is a p***er, but track days at £50 a go is what makes it worthwhile for me, otherwise I'd be with AF as they do changes for free 99% of the time.

£470 all declared, full no claims and 32 years young.
Sideways yo!

I was with greenlight but switched to HIC, they can include trackday cover if you want it and are more flexible on mods, thru HIC I pay £430 for the Audi if I wanted one that gave me trackday cover it was £640 and that covered any UK circuit. They also cover just about any mod but do need an engineers report if you want NOs

Great for modified Golfs. Got mine on an unlimited modification policy (means i can alter anything apart from engine without paying a mid term adjustment). If i do change engine power, then i just pay the increase in premium, but still no mid term adjustments.

:s bit strange, they seem really knowledgable whenever I speak to them? When I asked what mods they did charge for, the guy rattled off a loads of mods! He seemed to understand all the mods that I had done too. I know what you mean regarding the 'short' answers though. A couple of them are like that....

Thinking i may go with brentacre..

Greenlight defo won't charge you for the TBE and the lowering. Neither will they charge you for an intake and a Forge DV.

Stage 2+ would be charged for. They have verbally confirmed to me that they would charge for a HPFP, and any remap that increases the stock power by more than 25%. In terms of actual £charges, I can't help you I'm afraid.

Brentacre only charge for power increases. Everything else is free as long as you declare it, and there are no mid term adjustments. Thats who im insured with and have been many times before.  :happy2:

John and Kerry are very knowledgeable and really know their Dubs. We used to have them advertising in Rabbit magazine every 1/4 issue.

Used Greenlight for both our Golf, have the mk2 insured with them now although there were not the cheapest over the year I would have lost too much cancelling the policy.

Unfortunately I had to cancel the mk4 Anni policy as they dont insure MPV's - this is the only bit I want impressed with, 3 months into the policy and I got just under half the premium back!  Mother hubbards.
