Help please urgent big problem :(
« on: December 23, 2012, 12:04:13 pm »
As a few know I was having issues with water leaking :(

Well woke up this morning to find driver pillar soaking towel soaked to the max and passenger footwell full of water and behind dash threw water when I drove off I mean soaked the floor again it's coming from beside fan and Pollum filter area its hitting some of the wired but lucky there covered in what is furry stuff and looks like a hole in wall is letting water thro aswell and above fan area as said and soaking everything then when I went round a Corner it threw it out the driver side aswell :( am getting really worried now after reading others horror story's with electrics :(

I noticed sealer missing on window but under further look the both pillar are showing signs of paint bubbling and rust big time on both pillars where window is sitting on

Will vw fix this under paint warranty and I get insurance to repair window as don't want to pay for window and it still happens

Really am in a pickle and don't know what to do :(

Water is really really bad coming in :( it's dry now but with weather up here in Aberdeen is bad and am scared it happens again :(

Help please :(

Forgot to add there is green mould building up on outer rubbers and white spots all at bottom off window :(

Will I take scuttle panel off and see what's lurking there?
That the plastic at bottom off window of am right but would to remove wipers and all that or will I just leave it for window fitter or even vw to check that if I have to go to them?

take off the scuttle panel under the wipers and see if the drain for the bulkhead is blocked allowing the area to build up with water...
if its soaking a towel..it must be very obvious where its getting in...

I think the first thing to do is to get the car under a roof (house garage?) and not left outdoors for more rain to make it worse.

Being christmas eve etc tomorrow, you probably aren't going to be able to see or speak to anyone who can offer physical help yet - Most businesses won't be open again until Thursday/Friday or even next year.

No sunroof mate

Yeah thinking of removing the scuttle and see what's going on :) going to remove driver pillar too see if its coming in from top off windscreen or middle as water there and towel soaked :(

Really think windscreen seals have had it too :(

Hate this time of year as hardly any money and going to cost 70 at least for a window :(

Don't have either mate no garage or nothing :( got towels in places and removed the panel under glove box as water coming in there :( letting it just fall on rubber floor mats :(

Yeah going to try scuttle if clean that n still persists going to try a new windscreen but insurance closed on a Sunday :( will try tomorrow or thursday or even Friday

Can't see autoglass coming to do a window in the rain :(

Is the scuttle hard to remove?

Can you buy a cheap car cover on Monday morning from Halfords or similar? - At least it'll stop it getting worse and potentially far worse from the extent of water ingress which you describe.

good shout about the car cover R/r:The wipes arms can be a bit of a pain to get of-i would  take the glove box out etc and if you have a power washer etc get some one on the out side of the car to spray around the areas its coming  in to see if you cann see where it's coming in

If you have the space you could also get a cheap gazebo, may keep you dry whilst you work on the car aswell.

Good luck with finding the problem :happy2:

Well stripped my pillar pods today savage rain again to find water coming throw where it's all bonded :( so I know why and where it's leaking but to my amazement it's actually going into the fan and running down the whole fan system and coming out on floor and lying on top of the Pollum filter cover the cardboard or poly stuff and coming out the vents too :( was lying on dash and going in vents too :( gutted to say least

Well new windscreen should sort it and re seal and bond everything but I now have to buy new pillar as mine is dis coloured and damp smell :( anyone know a part number or just ask vw?

Cheers for help but finally found out what's going on :)

Auto glass are the best?

Or does insurer decide
