He paid £11,500 as it is. Someone got fleeced.

The only parts i can see that are genuinely from an Edition 30 are the steering wheel and the boot badge.

Id imagine that this car was stolen (stripped) recovered, but not recorded if it is indeed an Edition 30. (But thats speculation). An engine picture would put peoples mind at rest, however, its certainly worth no more than £8k as it is.

There are perfectly genuine Edition 30s around for £9k at the moment. So asking £11k+ for a car with all the defining features from an Edition 30 missing, is strange at best.

I looked at 5 editions, all of the paint work was shiat, leather bolster all worn. Non had the cam belt, water pump done and 3 of the 5 had bold front tyres.

Ok so I could put the BBS alloys on that would cost me £600 to do so, but why when most people change the wheels on the MKV golfs

Whichever way you look at it Joe, its currently a GTI with an Edition 30 engine. The defining features that make a car an Edition 30 are missing. And they are the only difference apart from the log book and the engine.

Well it has the engine, door seals, steering wheel, rear badge.

So it doesn't have wheels or seats?

I think personally the quality of the paint work and car makes up for a little bit of leather on some seats and the BBS alloys which are very easy to get hold of and the new owner would change anyway..

Its missing:

Edition 30 Seats
Edition 30 Leather Door Cards
Edition 30 Handbrake Trim
Edition 30 Gear Lever
Edition 30 Front Badge
Edition 30 Glovebox Trim
Edition 30 Mats (Red trim, edition 30 logo??)
Edition 30 BBS CH Wheels (only available on Edition 30, special finish)
Edition 30 Build Plaque

Am sure it is an Edition 30, but you cannot ask 11.5k for a car that has been so messed about with. I would ask why you would put a GOLF badge on the back as no GTI had this ? Something is'nt right here and any buyer who has done some basic research will walk away.

Deako the ed30 front badge was not standard, it's an add on. :-)

I have offered to check the car reg and vin to confirm if it was an ed30 from new, reg alone doesnt hold much value these days with the amount of stolen and cloned cars around.

I think that would help your argument that it is a real ED30

The rear GOLF badge doesn't mean anything. Although it might be a boot from a normal golf with the edition 30 badge out on it... If if the original had been damaged for instance.

Mine says TDI on the back, but its defo a ed30..... I think ;-)

Why would you change the badge? Or replace the boot with a normal one and not do it properly ?

Well I've just been on the phone to the trader I brought it from! Luckily I've paid on card.

The wheels I was selling on baby BMW would fit a 1er with adapters easy, it's been done.

The R32 would do 42mpg on a long run with a supercharger, unless you've had one you wouldn't have a clue.
2006, silver, 5 door, top spec, low miles MKV GTI for sale - looking for offers above 9k!

Joe.

A nice car no doulbt, but its not worth the money a complete edition 30 would command. Would all the messing around it has had I would simply move to the next complete one. It's a buyers market and no one wants a lemon.

Good. If you've genuinely not realised you've bought a sh*tter, then I hope it gets resolved.

No they wouldn't have fit. Ever.

Yes, I have actually. A good mate of mine had one, his never got over 20mpg... just like everyone elses. A charger sucks power at any revs, a turbo at least will be semi economical off boost.

Stop trying to be cute.

Its worth around 8k, but with so many questions over it unless the potential buyer knows nothing about ED30 and it is the first one they viewed it is going to be a very hard sell.
